Last month on November 20th, 2024, some of our Members were honored as finalists and categorical winners at the second Hoosier Excellence Award, an event hosted by the IBA which seeks to elevate the efforts and skills of IBA Members who live and operate in Indiana. We at BANCI are very excited to celebrate Granite Ridge Builders, who earned Best Home (in the $700,000 – $1,000,000 range) with their CR 300 S project.
The IBA’s carefully-selected panel of judges from outside of the state of Indiana evaluated the build and analyzed the overall aesthetic cohesion and charm, craftsmanship, implementation of special or unique design choices, use of appropriate building materials, navigation of budgetary considerations, as well as any challenges or obstacles the builders may have been tasked with overcoming for completion of the project. After deliberating over the work done on the part of Granite Ridge Builders, the judges determined they had earned the spot of Best Home for the 2024 Hoosier Excellence Awards. With the beautiful home standing as it is, there is no doubt about why it was deemed worthy of the title.
Functional elegance is more than prevalent in every aspect of this build, which features a mixed material blend of intricately-carven stonework and organic wooden installations. The rustic style of this home offers ample space for personalization, and the design elements pair well in a beautiful dance between hard edge and natural texture. The aforementioned design themes in conjunction with the expertly-crafted layout for ample living space is another perfect example of form and function coming together to make the residence more than just a house.
The master bedroom has been accentuated with a box ceiling and three windows to both allow for natural lighting within, as well as to frame the lovely pond visible from the room. This makes that space all the more enticing, being a lovely point of the home to highlight for its serenity.
The main focal point of the house, however, is the custom wood three-seasons room, which brings all the design features together in the heart of the residence. This gathering space is outfitted beautifully with a massive floor-to-ceiling fireplace, all blocked out in gorgeous stone. The room is also affixed with windows ideal for natural light-lovers to bask in the glow of the space during the day.
Granite Ridge Builders did a phenomenal job on this build. We’re very excited for and proud of them for their win for this year’s IBA Hoosier Excellence Awards!
